Each project begins by studying the architecture, the people who will inhabit it and the way daylight moves through the rooms. Surfaces, fixtures and lines are selected for purpose rather than decoration alone.
The work is bespoke in the literal sense. A downtown loft, for example, gained a custom listening nook with LP-sized shelving and discreet hi-fi wiring beside a Vitsoe wall system. It was not part of the original brief; it emerged through careful attention to the owner's life.
Darra works closely with a trusted network of artisans, fabricators and craftspeople, including collaborators who have supported the studio for years.
